Deliver More Power to High-Density Data Centers
with PowerGain™ PDUs

10/9/2026

AI, cloud computing, and high-performance computing (HPC) are driving greater power demands in data centers. As computing capacity increases, power distribution systems must deliver higher electrical loads to individual server cabinets without creating additional challenges for cable management, equipment access, or power monitoring. Accommodating these demands requires infrastructure that supports higher power capacity while remaining manageable as facilities expand.

The PowerGain™ family from Hubbell includes high-amperage power distribution units (PDUs) designed to meet these requirements. Available in basic and intelligent configurations, PowerGain™ rack PDUs combine high-capacity power delivery, space-saving designs, and secure electrical connections to support demanding data center applications.

High-Capacity Power Distribution in a Smaller Footprint

PowerGain™ PDUs deliver 60A to 200A of power distribution capacity, with select configurations supporting up to 415V three-phase power. Designed for high-density server cabinets, these units feature slim profiles that preserve valuable rack space, improve airflow, and simplify cable management.

The PowerGain™ family includes rack PDUs in lengths ranging from 41 to 88 inches, with multiple color options to accommodate different installation requirements. The five-cable power cord design also allows for easier routing and connections within the cabinet.

As part of the broader PowerGain™ solution, these PDUs support power distribution from the remote power panel (RPP) to the server, helping simplify installation and future modifications through connectorized connections.

Secure Connections for Reliable Power Delivery

In mission-critical data centers, secure electrical connections are essential to maintaining consistent power delivery. PowerGain™ PDUs are assembled in the USA using robotic soldering to promote connection consistency and long-term reliability.

Additional features available on select models:

  • Secure cord-locking mechanisms
  • Color-coded phase indicators
  • Small-form-factor connectors
  • Tool-free mounting

In higher-amperage data center, power distribution systems can be incredibly complex. These features help simply installation and maintenance.

Greater Visibility and Control with Intelligent PDUs

Beyond delivering power, data center operators need visibility into electrical loads and operating conditions to support ongoing equipment management. PowerGain™ intelligent PDUs provide an integrated LCD display for convenient power status checks and a built-in web interface for remote access to monitoring information.

Depending on the configuration and connected accessories, additional capabilities include:

  • Environmental monitoring to allow up to four sensors per PDU to track temperature and humidity.
  • Remote power cycling within compatible switching cords.
  • Power monitoring for immediate access to electrical operating information.

These capabilities make it easier for operators to monitor conditions and manage power delivery as equipment requirements change.
