The Reynolds Company Announces EVP Retirement and Succession Plan for Gulf Coast Region
HOUSTON, TX – August 5, 2025 – McNaughton McKay Group and The Reynolds Company announced today the upcoming retirement of George Mehaffey, Executive Vice President of The Reynolds Company, effective December 31, 2025. In conjunction with George’s retirement, we are pleased to announce the promotion of Tammy Ayers to Vice President, Gulf Coast, effective January 1, 2026.
For over two decades, George has been instrumental in shaping not only the growth of The Reynolds Company, but the broader success of McNaughton McKay Group and the electrical distribution industry as a whole. After beginning his career in distribution, he gained experience with stops at Rockwell Automation, Reily Electric and Panduit. George joined The Reynolds Company as Vice President, Gulf Coast in 2002. His arrival came at a pivotal time and his leadership, industry knowledge, and key relationships proved essential in establishing and expanding the Gulf Coast region into one of the largest and most dynamic areas of our business.
His vision helped shape the company’s global reach, establishing EPC and Engineered Equipment & Packaged Solutions teams, and as an empowering leader and mentor, foster a culture where every voice matters. With deep appreciation, we celebrate George’s extraordinary 23-year legacy, defined by transformative contributions, tireless commitment, and a foundational belief in the power of people to drive meaningful progress.

Tammy is an industry veteran bringing more than 30 years of experience in electrical distribution, with a career that began in Houston at Wesco. In 1995, she joined Reily Electric, where she remained through the company’s acquisition by Wesco in 1998, continuing her success as a top-performing account manager until 2016. She then served as Vice President of Sales at Wholesale Electric before joining The Reynolds Company in 2022.
Since joining The Reynolds Company, Tammy has served as Director of Sales and Business Development for South Texas, where she leads with integrity, clarity, and a deep understanding of the Gulf Coast market. Her strategic mindset and focus on long-term customer success have driven strong results while reinforcing the culture of collaboration and ownership that defines our company.
Tammy has worked closely with George over the past three years in preparation for this transition; gaining key knowledge of the region’s complexities, expanding strong relationships across our organization, and helping chart the future of the Gulf Coast business. Her background across MRO, EPCs, and strategic accounts equips her to lead with both operational insight and customer empathy.
